Brady Tien Named Associate Attorney at Glassman Bird Powell, L.L.P.

Brady Tien, a Phillips County native who has degrees from Fort Hays State University (2015) and Washburn University School of Law (2022), has been named Associate of Glassman Bird Powell, L.L.P. As a participant in Washburn’s Third Year Anywhere Program, Brady spent his last year of law school as a legal intern with GBP where he was able to practice with intern and temporary licenses. He took the oath of admission to the Kansas Bar on September 18, administered by Judge Glenn R. Braun.

Tien joins GBP Partners John T. Bird and Todd D. Powell in the practice. “It was a proud and exciting day for the latest addition to our law firm, Brady Tien, a Western Kansan, to join us. His education and his experience for the last year here in our office has prepared him well. Brady hit the ground running and already has his own following and cases.”

His areas of practice at GBP will include family law, collections, criminal defense, property transactions, quiet title actions, civil litigation, personal injury, estate planning and administration, business formation, and other commercial transactions.

Tien graduated from Washburn University with Deans Honors. Before his internship with GBP, he also was a teacher’s assistant for one of Washburn’s legal research and writing courses. Prior to law school, Tien worked as an intensive supervision officer with Northwest Kansas Community Corrections, a parole officer with the Kansas Department of Corrections, and an assistant track and field coach for his high school alma mater, Logan High School.

His greatest joy comes from family—wife Jessie, an occupational therapist, and their three-month-old baby Charlotte (who had her first day in court watching her father get sworn in).

“I am extremely grateful to be back in Western Kansas as a member of the legal profession and to have the opportunity to serve the communities I grew up in,” said Brady. “I have no doubt it will be a wonderful, rewarding experience.”
